A PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (2018-19)

FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL

AT TJIS, KANPUR

On Saturday, 21st April, 2018

Parents are a vital part of the The Jain International School. Their contributions are invaluable to the school through volunteer time and support of school activities. Under the proficient guidance of Respected Principal Mr M. K. Panda, A Parent Orientation Programme was organised for the parents of Middle School, classes 6th to 8th on Saturday, 2018. The aim was to familiarise the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching techniques  , Co-scholastic Activities, Tutorials,  the New Examination Pattern , Assessment and Report Card as revised by CBSE Board. Middle school requires students to make a great many changes and adjustments, both socially and academically. Students need the help and support of parents and teachers to insure that these changes are met. The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents and Light Refreshment.

Respected Principal addressed the gathering. In his speech, sir laid stress on effective communication between the teachers & the parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overall development. Sir also gave guidelines about effective parenting and suggested different measures to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future. The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school and were given an overview of the various subjects which gave them an assurance that the curriculum involves self-directed, hands-on learning activities which not only give vent to their creative talents and energies but also help in their all-round development of the child.

The Orientation Programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. Overall it was a fruitful meeting and the parents were in high spirits after attending it.

The discourse about the various subjects was followed by an interactive session where the queries of the parents were deciphered and their worthy suggestions were appreciated with an assurance to execute them at the earliest.

We hope that the students will expand their worldview, will learn to lead and will do great things with the co-operation of parents and teachers. Our challenge is to guide them without pushing; support them without carrying.
