Today, the senior students were instilled with positivity at The Jain International School when the session of Lakshya commenced with this positive note. The Guest Speaker was the versatile personality Dr Sanjay Mittal, Professor and Head, Department of Aerospace Engineering and Coordinator, National wind Tunnel Facility, Indian Institute Of Technology, Kanpur.
Dr Sanjay Mittal received a hearty welcome from the School Principal Mr. M. K. Panda and the school students.
Dr Mittal completed his Phd from Minnesota. His research interests are innumerable, Just to name a few -- Aerodynamics, CFD, Aerodynamic Shape Optimization, Bluff Body Flows, Vortex Induced Vibrations, Fluid Structure Interactions, Transition and Turbulence, Air Intakes, Wind Tunnel testing, Modelling and Traffic.
Sir holds the Fellowship of IAS since 2007, INSA since 2011 and J. C Bose, New Delhi since 2013. He is a Corresponding Editor from India, Computer Modelling in Engineering & Sciences (CMES) for Tec Science Press since 2009. He was awarded Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, Engineering Sciences, 2006 CSIR, New Delhi and Scopus Young Scientist in Engineering, 2007, Elsevier, New Delhi.
In his address Dr Mittal stressed upon the need of choosing a career which must not only be beneficial for the society but the nation at large. Sir urged the students to keep their selfish motive aside and must work for their happiness and exploit the available opportunities. He briefed the students with career options in Science like Defence, Nuclear Energy and other alternate Energy Resources, Films, etc. He emphasized upon the need of producing electronic and other gadgets in the country rather than importing them.
Sir gave a short presentation of his researches based to the students. His researches were related to game items like Cricket ball and shuttlecock to Aircrafts.
The session became very interactive and interesting when the students – Prateek Bhai Patel, Suma Geddam, Krishna Purwar, Himanshu, Yuvraj Pratap Singh and many others surrounded Dr Mittal and satiated their queries.
Principal Sir concluded the counseling session by paying gratitude to Dr Sanjay Mittal for his kind presence and honoured him with a memento and token of love on behalf of the entire TJIS Family.
