Shri Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami, Saatam Aatham, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, Srikrishna Jayanti, Sree Jayanti is celebrated on the eighth day of Savana month. Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the Avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Janmashtami festival was celebrated with great zeal and religious piousness by the Management and faculty of The Jain International School, Kanpur both online and offline.
For Little Champs, the whole week was Krishnamay as they were involved in different auspicious rituals to make Janmashtami, the annual commemoration of the birth of Hindu Deity Krishna, the Eighth Avatar of Vishnu, full of fun and celebrations.
The kids were given some tasks for 3 days. On Day 1 they made Kanha's favourite Makhan Mishri. Day 2 was adorned with beautiful performances by our little Radhas and Kanhas to lend melody to the event and on the 3rd Day Janmashtami was celebrated by all through Zoom platform.This was followed by yet another exciting activity of making Mor Mukutunder the able guidance of Ms Sujata Saini.
The morning of 30th August commenced with the recital of bhajans in the school campus.The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning camphor and jingle of the bells filled the air with festivity. Everyone was krishnamay.
Students performed different activities online throughout the week related to the festival and finally the day had arrived to commemorate the auspicious occasion in the school.The premises was decorated with traditional Jhankis and Krishna Jhoola depicting the birth of Lord Krishna.
The morning puja concluded with Aarti by Honourable Principal, Mr. M.K. Panda and all present. Later everyone enjoyed fruits, sweets and Panchamrit as 'Prasadam'.
