‘JUNE SUMMER CHALLENGE – 2021’
From 14th to 19th June
At The Jain International School, Kanpur
"If you are positive you will see opportunities instead of obstacles"
The unprecedented pandemic of Covid-19 brought with it an abrupt lockdown affecting our schools and impacting all our lives, leaving us to navigate the significant changes to work and lifestyle. At TJIS, Kanpur, we were locked down but we were not closed down – there was no face-to-face teaching but our core activities of education, learning and exercises during this SUMMER CHALLENGE were still carried out, thanks to the quick thinking and a tremendous effort and support by the school Management.
The activities included were both synchronous and Asynchronous. There were both interactive and offline sessions.
Yoga, Aerobics, Pranayama, Antakshari and different physical, mental and entertaining activity sessions were effectively launched and executed between June 14th and 19th, 2021 on zoom.
The influence of teacher extends beyond the classroom, well into the future. This whole session included Power Point Presentations, Fitness sessions, live interactive virtual class sessions and abundance of interactive activities such as-
- Brain Boosting activities
- Amazing geographical facts, puzzles and interactive session on Human body parts
- Tongue twisters, hand shadow, riddles and laughter challenges
- Multitudinous activities on history
- Spoon art, marble hitting, popping balloons, collecting straw with forks like games
- Tie and die, leaf impression, crossword puzzles
We were able to successfully convert the activities to more creative and discerning assessment that could be completed online to evaluate a student’s understanding. We were able to share an experience which was unique and unprecedented and yet communal and global.
This Summer Camp was one among several initiatives the school has taken during lockdown.
It is important that we preserve our traditions by adapting them to new times and new circumstances. Lockdown has brought this evermore into focus as we continue to find new and innovative ways to aid the all-round development of our students helping them draw confidence and making them achieve their full potential even while we are apart.
Ending up with gratitude to our Management and Principal Mr. M.K.Panda and a big thanks to all the concerned departments, faculty members, students and Parents for their cooperation and support.
