Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On 26 November, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January, 1950.
Constitution day is celebrated in the honour of Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar who had chaired the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly and played a pivotal role in the drafting of the Constitution of India. Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced 26th November to be celebrated as ‘Constitution Day’ to spread awareness of the constitution and principles of Dr.Ambedkar.
The Jain International School celebrated this day with great respect and serenity as there were a series of events that took place in the Special Morning Assembly.
There was a ‘Mass Recitation’ of the Preamble in the Morning Assembly in both Hindi and English and the importance and significance of Preamble was explained to the students by Respected Principal Mr. Manoj Panda, followed by an informative speech about Constitution Day.
Intra Class discussions were organized to create a sense of awareness amongst students about the nation’s and the Indian Constitution.
