With Diwali round the corner, celebration of the festival came alive at The Jain International School, on 23rd October, 2019, when the whole school wore a festival look with pots, diyas and lanterns adorning the school premises, holding a raft of activities.
The soft boards across the school were renovated with the theme- Festivals of East, West, North and South added perfect setting to the festivity. The students enjoyed ‘Pot Making Activity’ with full devotion, excitement and enthusiasm. During the morning assembly students talked about the significance of the festival that how good always conquers the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across the country and sensitised the fellow students about the ill effects of burning crackers.
Welcoming the festival of lights, the students of the school unfolded their creative abilities in a string of soulful performances during ‘The Special Diwali Assembly’. The reigns of the assembly were held by Atharva Yadav and Sanvi Yadav of class V (Little Champs) and Kopal Agarwal and Harshita Singh of classes VI & VIII respectively.
The programme commenced with a spiritual Bhajan presented by the Choir Group which was followed by a sweet and exhilarating dance performance by the Pre Primary Champs. The soulful enactment of a skit on Ramayan left the audience awestruck. To enlighten the audience with the wider significance of the festival, a speech was presented by Pratika Singh of class VII.
The assembly was graced with the kind presence of Honourable Principal Mr. M.K. Panda, Head Mistress Junior, Mrs. Rekha Singh and Head Mistress Senior, Mrs.Deepa Singh. The event concluded with Greetings and Best wishes on the auspicious occasion of the Festival of Lights.
