To introduce international dimension into our school curriculum the representatives of British Council visited the TJIS Campus on Wednesday, 21st August, 2019, with their new innovative global education program. The British council is the bridge between India and the UK for cultural relations and educational opportunities. British Council consulted a range of stake holders, drew upon research on the deep pedagogies framework and UNESCO’S transversal skills and decided to focus on the children at various levels.
The session was addressed by various prominent guests for classes XI and XII who had come from different Universities throughout the world and focused on the career development of the children. Miss Himani Taneja-Senior Manager ( Higher Education & Society) along with Miss. Liz Shermanz ( New Castle University), Nigel Lee (Staffordshire University), Sonal Govil (University of Surry) and Aparajita Kalra (University of Birmingham), advocated for the higher studies for our students in various renowned universities abroad.
The team approached with their inventive and creative ideas such as communication and collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving, creativity and imagination, student leadership and personal development as well as digital literacy etc.
The workshop focused on building student’s confidence and improvement in various critical levels which the child faces in day to day life. The session was designed to help our children to become globally aware and competitive in 21st century.
Our guest of honor Miss Himani Taneja ( British Council ) guided and mentored our students about the gateway for seeking admissions, fee structure at various Universities which have been at the crest for quality education.
The session commenced with the felicitation of guests by the School Principal Mr. M. K. Panda, Headmistress (Senior Wing) Mrs. Deepa Singh, Headmistress (Junior Wing) Mrs. Rekha Singh and the venerable members of the staff.
The objective of the session was to help the children with career planning, the decision making process, implementation of career choice, career adjustment and the interplay between the career and personal issues. Overall the session was very informative and interactive.
