At TJIS, Kanpur
Overall Yellow Tigers in Group B
and
Blue Panthers in Group C
won the 1st Position
It is better to debate a question without settling than to settle a question without debating it.Through debates, preparing and delivering of argumentation offers students the opportunity in critical thinking, development of their academic research skills, improvement in their communication abilities, solution of problems in a creative way and an increase in their self-confidence. In modern era debating is increasingly becoming an integral part of schools’ curriculum planning.
With the same perspective in view, the school organized an IH English Debate Competition for Group ‘B’ (Grades VI -VIII) and ‘C’ (Grades IX - XII) on Thursday, 11th July, 2019 in which two contestants from each of all the four houses in both the Groupsparticipated enthusiastically to take their house on the zenith by their freedom of speech.
The esteemed Judges for the event were honourable Principal Mr M. K. Panda, Senior Headmistress Ms. Deepa Singh and Junior Headmistress MsRekha Singh. They judged the contestantson the criteria of content, pronunciation, voice modulation, retention and overall presentation.
The event was hosted skillfully by Red Jaguars.
The anchors for the event were Tannistha Roy and VedanshJaiswal and the time-keepers were Divyanshi Prajapati and Rashi Kashyap.
The topics for the debate were:
Group B- Can E-teachers replace human teachers in classroom?
Group C- Is Politics no longer an attractive career for educated youth?
