A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe. ‘A Parent Orientation Programme’is a fantastic opportunity for parents to know what to expect from the school during the session and also equip themselves for it. It becomes a celebration time for the parents when it is complemented with ‘The Prize Day’ where the toppers are acclaimed for their Academic Excellence.
A Parent Orientation Programme was organized for the parents at The Jain International Schoolon Saturday, 27th April, 2019, to appraise the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching techniques, Co-scholastic Activities, Tutorials, the New Examination Pattern, Assessment and Report Card as revised by CBSE Board. At different stages of their life studentsrequire to make a great many changes and adjustments, emotionally, socially and academically. At these stages the students not only need the help and support of teachers in the school and parents at home to ensure that these changes are met. Orientation was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Session 2018-19.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The parents were briefed about different aspects by Respected Principal, Mr M.K. Panda, Senior Headmistress Mrs Deepa Singh and Little Champs Headmistress Mrs Rekha Singh. In their respective speeches they laid stress on effective communication between the teachers & the parents and also sought their support and suggestions so that the children could be provided the best for their overall development. They also gave guidelines about effective parenting and suggested different measures to nurture a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future. The parents were instructed about the rules and regulations of the school and were given an overview of the various subjects. This gave them an assurance that the curriculum involves self-directed, hands-on learning activities which not only give vent to their creative talents and energies but also help in their all-round development of the child.
The Orientation Programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. We believe parents are the main influence in children's lives. Our goal is to build a relationship with the child and with the family.
The discourse on various topics was followed by an interactive session where the queries of the parents were deciphered and their worthy suggestions were appreciated with an assurance to execute them at the earliest. Overall it was a fruitful meeting and the parents were in high spirits after attending it.
We hope that the students will expand their worldview, will learn to lead and will do great things with the co-operation of parents and teachers. Our challenge is to guide them without pushing; support them without carrying.
