Christmas activities are festive and fun for children who are excited for the jolliest holiday of the year. These Christmas activities bring the joy of the holiday to their home, with homemade candy canes, Christmas trees, and handprint reindeer. Not only are these Christmas activities fun, but they also help our little ones build up the sense of belongingness and togetherness.
“Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.”
Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. This celebration is organized throughout the world.
Christmas, the festival of hope, prosperity, happiness and elation was celebrated with fanfare at the Assembly Hall of TJIS on Friday, 21st December, 2018. It was decorated with marvelous Christmas scenario which comprised of the Christmas Tree with a lot of hanging bells and gifts, Santa Claus, stockings, bells, holy leaves, etc. The students really enjoyed the beauty of the Christmas tree which was festooned with bright lights and frills.
The celebration commenced by telling the reason of celebrating Christmas. The students were told that Christmas is celebrated as the birth anniversary of messiah Jesus Christ who rescued humanity from the grip of terror and sin.
The little stars of TJIS presented carols on the birth of Jesus Christ where the students enacted. Special carols were played during the skit and all the students had great time enjoying festivity. Then the tiny tots gave their exuberant performance of action dance on ‘Jingle Bells’. The Carol song sung by our charming nightingales filled the air with festivity. Along with it, the grand entry of Sharad Gupta of Grade XII dressed up as Santa Claus added more joy to the occasion. The delight was uncontained especially as he distributed sweets amongst the children.. The arrival of the Santa added colour to the celebration. Children cheered Santa by singing the Christmas carol - ‘ Jingle bells ….. Jingle bells …. Jingle all the way …..’ showcasing the evolution of this popular song over the centuries. Everyone sang on the Christmas carol ‘Jingle Bells’.
On the occasion, honourable Principal Sir asked the students to enjoy the festival of happiness, light and prosperity. Junior Headmistress, Ms. Rekha Singh and Senior Headmistress, Ms. Deepa Singh graced the occasion.
Although it was still a few days till Christmas, the atmosphere of Christmas lingered in the air, warming our hearts and filling them with love and joy.
Christmas is tenderness for the past, courage for the present and hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may over flow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.
“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting.”
