It is widely accepted that the traditional chalk and talk model of content-oriented teaching cannot adequately prepare young people for the future. We need to shift focus emphasise on value-oriented experiential learning. To counter the challenges that the schools across the world are grappling with, The British Council International School Award (ISA) approach is holistic and promising. It is a benchmarking scheme that accredits schools as having an outstanding level of support for nurturing global citizenship in young people and enriching teaching and learning.
It was a proud moment for the entire S.G.I. Family when the screen flashed -- ISA Dossier Result-Approved. The Jain International School has been accredited with British Council International School award for the period of 2018-2021. British Council International School Award (ISA)recognises and celebrates exemplary practices of internationalism in schools.
Our journey with The British Council started on 8th September, 2016 when the schools were briefed about ISA. Since then we never looked back. With the support of Honourable Chairman Mr Amarnath Agarwal, Managing Trustee Mr Kapil Agarwal, Principal Advisor Mr Amitabh Mohan and able guidance of Respected Principal Mr M. K. Panda a team of four School Co-ordinators Mrs Rekha Singh, Mrs Deepa Singh, Mrs Jyoti Johari and Mrs Anjali Singh set to work.
Seven Lesson plans of International standards, related to the curriculum were prepared by seven teams under their respective co-ordinators and were approved by the British Council. Three plans were to be initiated with International collaboration. The whole school from grade Pre Primary to XII buzzed with enthusiasm and activity throughout the session 2017-18. Not a single stone was left unturned and today we are reaping the fruit of our hard work – The International School Award(ISA)
The school Principal Mr M.K. Panda and the ISA Co-ordinators Mrs Rekha Singh and Mrs Deepa Singh received the prestigious ISA Award on behalf of the entire school at a grand Ceremony that was held at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi.
Mr M. K. Panda dedicated this achievement to staff, students and parents for their effort, support and cooperation as it would not have been possible to accomplish this daunting task in the very first attempt, without their active support and hard work. The school has bagged this coveted award by scoring 49/49 points.
