Dussehra Celebration

The Victory of Virtue Over Vice 

At TJIS, Kanpur

On Monday, 15^th October, 2018

 

All nine days during Navratri are dedicated to nine forms of Goddess Shakti. Shardiya Navratri falls in the month of September or October. The nine days festivity culminates on tenth day with Dussehra or Vijayadashmi.

 

All the students, teachers, Junior Headmistress, Senior Headmistress and Principal gleefully assembled to celebrate Dussehra Festival. Dussehra is celebrated as victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and light over darkness. On the occasion special videos were shown to the primary students to enlighten the students the reason behind the celebration. It was told that on this day Lord Ram had defeated Ravan. Ravan stands for evil and Lord Ram symbolizes virtue and goodness.

 

T.J.I.S. celebrated Dussehra with full zeal and zest. A celebration was conducted where the tiny tots recited a rhyme on Dussehra. A small skit based on Dussehra was showcased by the senior students. A song mesmerized the audience and earned a lot of applause. Pratika Singh and Kratika Singh expressed their views on Dussehra and Durga Puja respectively. At last a quiz was conducted by Ms. Shivani Bahl on the questions related to the occasion in which the students were very enthusiastic to answer.

 

On the occasion School Principal, Mr. M.K. Panda also asked a few questions from the students based on Dussehra festival and urged them to curb their evil desires, vices and flaws and supplant it with virtue, hard work and dedication. He advised the students to bring laurel by their stupendous success to their families, school and the nation.
