‘LEARNING BY DOING – AN ENGINE FOR EDUCATION’
A VISIT TO HDFC BANK- WE UNDERSTAND YOUR WORLD
BY STUDENTS OF TJIS, KANPUR
Tuesday, 19th December, 2017
Each one of us is familiar with the term ‘Bank’. Banks are a huge part of our lives. We all know that a bank is a financial institution that accepts deposits from the public and creates credit. Lending activities can be performed either directly or indirectly through capital markets. Due to their importance in the financial stability of a country, banks are highly regulated in most countries. In schools we study how a bank operates but sometimes it becomes quite difficult for our students to understand. In today’s era when a bank is operational online, transactions can be made on every nook and corner through electronic media, it becomes very difficult for the students to understand the functioning of a bank.
To give our students the practical knowledge of the functions of a bank, as a part of their curriculum, the school planned a visit of the students and teachers to HDFC Bank, Civil Lines, Kanpur, on Tuesday, 19th December, 2017.
The students were welcomed by The Senior Executive Ms Bhawna Adlakha. They started with the introduction of each and every counter with basic queries. Thereafter the students were divided into groups, headed by Bank Personnel to give an account of Net Banking, its features and benefits. The students were curious to know about the new features of Net banking.
Finally the students satiated their queries regarding different types of forms like Pay-in-slip, Account Transfer Form, Pin Change Form, Loan Application and Application Form for E-age Banking Channels, etc.
There the students observed the working of the bank very closely. Overall it was a knowledgeable trip for our students. Truly, to promote excellence in education, practical knowledge is must. Educational trips not only enhance learning but also make it simpler and easier.
‘Learning-by-doing provides an engine for long term Education thus upholding excellence in education’
