Hopscotch Activity in Mathematics
“Mathematics is not a spectator sport. It’s not a body of knowledge, it’s not symbols on a page. It’s something you play with, something you do.”
The students of Grade 1 had the Hopscotch Activity in Mathematics. The concept explained to the children was to revise addition and subtraction by combining Mathematics with the movements. The objective of the lesson was that hopscotch and Mathematics come together easily on their own and since the kids move, they tend to learn more and stay engaged longer. The learning outcome was that the students had learnt to do calculations faster in a play way method.
