‘A Good education consists in knowing how to sing and dance’

Undoubtedly a genuine educator is one who can manifest himself in varied dance forms. Of all the Arts, none remain as rooted in ritual as Dance. To dance means to be new, to be very fresh at every moment, as though one has just been issued from the hands of God. The dance is one of many human experiences which cannot be suppressed. Dancing has existed at all times and among all people and races. Dance is a form of expression given to man just as speech, philosophy, painting or music.

On Saturday, 19^th August, 2017, dancers at The Jain International School rocked the floor with their breath-taking performance at ‘The Inter House Dance Competition’. One contestant each from all the four houses for each Groups A, B and C participated in the contest with full zeal and energy and gave a tough competition to their rivals.

The presence of Respected Principal Mr. M. K. Panda, Respected Headmistress Mrs. Soumee Sarkar and Dance Teacher, Ms Aparnika Sahu as honourable jury members was highly acclaimed by the audience. The participants were judged for Choreography, Costume and Use of Props, Expressions and Overall Performance. The time duration for the performance was 3 minutes each.

The theme for Group A was Songs on Lord Krishna whereas Group B performed on Folk Songs. Group C performers contested on Remix of old Numbers.

Abhivyakti Johari and Akash Verma held the reins of the entire programme very successfully till the end.

The Musical morning concluded with the declaration of results by Principal Sir and Vote of Thanks by Headmistress Ma’am.
