“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed”
Earth Day, April 22, marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The event focuses on maintaining a healthier environment on this sphere for the betterment of society and the forthcoming generations.
This year, as usual, Earth Day did not go unnoticed at The Jain International School, Kanpur. The students observed this day by participating in several activities displaying their role in saving Mother Earth and keeping it clean. These activities not only showcased their talents but also but also enhanced their knowledge and awareness.
The celebrations commenced with the decoration of the Soft board on The Earth day. Thereafter the students of classes 6th to 8th made beautiful art pieces like wall hangings, pen holders, dustbins, piggy banks, decorative items, etc. by using waste material especially the plastic waste that is harmful for the Earth’s crust thus giving the message that non- biodegradable plastic can be used for beauty and decoration.
On one hand when the students of class 9th made posters on the topic ‘Save Earth’ class 10th students showed their creativity by making collage on the topic ‘Environment’.
Students of 11th and 12th expressed their views on the importance of this day through write-ups.
The principal Mr M. K. Panda appreciated the efforts of the students and their constructive and positive role in saving earth.
