Orange Day (2nd December, 2016)
The Little Champs of Grades P.G., Nursery, L.K.G. and U.K.G. celebrated the ‘Orange Day’ on 2nd December, 2016. The event was celebrated to acquaint the little Cherubs with the concept of colour and objects related to it.
To mark this special day, the students and teachers were also dressed in orange. The classrooms and corridors were beautifully decorated with orange coloured objects and balloons. The students made verbal lists of items with the colour. They were given a thorough understanding of the orange colour through various craft activities in which they made a rabbit made up of spoon and carrot was pasted on it. They also made a carrot which had many orange lollipops which was a return gift for them. Such activities were based on fine motor skills which further strengthed the orange colour recognition.
The little ones enjoyed their day to the fullest by playing many games like ‘Biscuit Race’, ‘Decorate the Crown’ and ‘Who am I?’ All the children got chocolates. By playing such games, the tiny tots got learned their orange colour as well.
This event was an excellent way to teach kids, the importance of colours and the things related to it. With this method of teaching, the children grasp better as they understand things.
The day concluded with a party wherein they relished juicy oranges and orange juice. The tiny tots were extremely excited to carry home a Head Gear of different orange objects and the carrot with lollipops which they made in their craft as a return gift.
