EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO CAMP KALSI -- NAINITAL

8^th May to 2^nd June, 2016

This summer vacation was not onlyextraordinary but also adventurous for the students of The Jain International School because it helped in honing their Camping and trekking skills. Our destination was Camp Kalsi, Nainital, perched on a beautiful site on the banks of the stream Kalsa where it breaks out from the hills. This mesmerizing Camp is located amongst acres of terraced farms with backdrops of hills and vast green jungles with river flowing next to it. A group of 43 students, from classes 4 to 12, accompanied by five faculty members started their four days trip on the night of 28^thMay.

29^th Morning dawned atCampKalsi and all were astounded to see the beautiful scenario. After sumptuous breakfast they were introduced to their campsite equipment, knot practice, etc.Thereafter they participated in various adventure activities like River Crossing, Burma Bridge, Commando net Team like Building Games spider web, Minefield, Life Skill games like Night March, and Fun Games like Archery, darting, etc. The first day was really full of fun and adventure.

May 30^th was even more thrilling as the whole team started trekking across the JhulaPul, a British Hanging Bridge – The Pathway to Heaven. After breakfast they enjoyed Body Surfing and Cliff Jumping. Lunch as followed by a trip to Nainital. 31^stMay commencedwith trekking into the Jungle, visiting Bheemtal and shopping at the Mall.

On the concluding day i.e. June 1^st the team went for the breathtaking Jeep Safari in the deep jungles and after lunch they departed to their home town.

Overall, a short trip to this beautiful Camp gave our young scholars an everlasting experience and knowledge which they will cherish for years to come. Travelling not only entertains us but also enhances our knowledge. It educates, enlightens & provides us with wonderful first-hand experiences.
