"We are Indians, firstly and lastly." – B.R Ambedkar
India is celebrating the 66th Republic Day – the commemoration of a historic moment when India's constitution came into being on 26th January, 1950, an even that completed the country's long-sought transition towards becoming an independent republic nation.
The iconic moment, that replaced the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India, thereby installed a democratic government system. The day was chosen because it was also this day in 1930 when the Declaration of Indian Independence “PurnaSwaraj" was declared by the Indian National Congress.
The eventful morning at The Jain International School commenced with unfurling of the tri-colour followed by the National Anthem. This infused the spirit of nationalism and patriotism. The soulful speeches by SiddharthKanaujia of Grade 4 and KartikeyDwivedi of Grade 5 enriched the students with their information about Republic day. Mrs MamtaShukla and Mrs ShashiBajpai, through their informative discourse instilled in the students how to love their beautiful nation and told them what isjustice, liberty, equality and fraternity. The patriotic songs presented by the Music Department and the students filled the hearts of all present with love for their country.
Saluting India! Where each bud blooms in its true colours, where each day is celebration of unity, harmony and synthesis.
Happy Republic Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
