THE INAUGURAL JAIN PREMIER LEAGUE
INAUGURAL TOURNAMENT – JAIN PREMIER LEAGUE
2nd to 5th January, 2015
The best way to combat the chill of winter season is sports which not only is a source of entertainment but also warms you up. Cricket, being the most popular game, the Jain International School Management decided to organise a‘20 Over Cricket Tournament -- JAIN PREMIER LEAGUE’ in the school premises from 2nd to 5th January, 2015.
The following four renowned teams of the city participated in the Inaugural Tournament which commenced on 2nd January, 2015:
- 1. Avro Warriors
- 2. Blue Star Challengers
- 3. Den Indians
- 4. Jain Strikers
After tough competition Avro Warriors and Blue Star Challengers qualified for the finals. The Final match was held on 5th January in which Avro Warriors scored 230 runs in 20 overs whereas the opponent team was all out in 15.4 overs.
It was a matter of great pride that honourable Dr MurliManohar Joshi Jee, a leading member of the BharatiyaJanata Partyand the current Member of Parliament for Kanpurconsented to give away the trophies to the winning teams.
The Winning Trophy was dedicated to ShriManoharLal Joshi, Dr Joshi’s respected father and the Runner-Up Trophy was dedicated to SmtChandrawati Joshi, Dr Joshi’s respected mother.
MohdSalimHasan was declared ‘The Man of the Series’.
Dr Joshi congratulated the teams and motivated them by his inspirational speech. He told the players that nothing is impossible in life if you have your eyes fixed on your aim and work with full dedication like Arjun and Lord Ram.
