INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION - JAI HO!

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the sole of a nation long suppressed find utterance”. These were the words of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, our First Prime Minister on the eve of India’s Independence in 1947.
The students of The Jain International School paid homage to countless freedom fighters as they celebrated the 68th Independence Day. Theywere filled with patriotism and love for their country as they presented mélange of patriotic activities which created an atmosphere of national pride. Children were dressed up in saffron, white and green colours.
The bright independent morning dawned with Prabhat Pheri organised by Dainik Jagran which filled the students with sense of unity and patriotism. This wasfollowed by March Past by the students of the four houses. The houses were judged for the March Past by the Principal Mrs Ira Bhat, Ms Pallavi Kaushik and MrsNeha Bajpai.The tri-colour was unfurled by the Principal and the school administered the pledge ‘India is my country ……’ The school teachers Mrs. Arti Sachan and Mrs. Maninder Kaur acquainted the students with the importance of Independence Day and how they can keep it intact under all circumstances.
The cultural plethora consisted of a song by Little Champs ‘Jai ho……’followed by a group dance. Muskaan of class Prep and Tanmay Mishra of class 9 recited thought provoking poems. The attraction of the morning was the Inter House Group Dance Competition for group B. The judges were the Principal Mrs Ira Bhat, Mrs Sarika Seth and Ms Ratna Shukla.
The programme concluded with the announcement of results and blessings of the Principal.
