Saturday, 3rd May 2014
THE JAIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL is extremely vigilant and proactive in the need to provide its students withnecessary guidance and counselling to decide their future line. Keeping this task in mind the school has created a specialized CAREER GUIDANCE CELL- LAKSHYA.
The process of career guidance starts right from class 9th where students are counselled from time to time through arrangement of various workshops and encouraged to find out and research on their areas of interests. The school organizes lectures, workshops and seminars for the senior students on regular basis so that they can understand from specialists in various fields as to what is required for them to reach where they want to be.
They are also given an opportunity to visit various industries and meet successful entrepreneurs and visionaries in order to learn from them as to how to achieve their goals.
The first workshop of the session commenced on Saturday, 3rd May 2014 which was conducted by Dr. Anil Tewari,Vice-principal, K.V. No. 2, Armapur, Kanpur, for the students of classes 9th and 10th. Sir acquainted the students with the details of CCEas defined by CBSE.
CCE refers Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation, a system of school based assessment that covers all the aspects of a student’s development. It was designed to reduce the student’s stress related to board exams, and to introduce a uniform and comprehensive pattern for student evaluation across the country. It emphasizes on two broad objectives: (a) Continuity in Evaluation and (b) Assessment of broad based learning. Clearly, it attempts to shift emphasis from ‘testing’ to ‘holistic learning’ with an aim of creating young adults, possessing appropriate skills and desirable qualities in addition to academic excellence. CCE (Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation) pattern is an integral part of present day evaluation system in CBSE Schools.
The Principal Mrs Ira Bhat paid her gratitude to sir for counseling and guiding the students hoping that the CCE pattern would boost the self-esteem of the students and make them more confident and self-motivated learners who are able to work independentlyas well as collaboratively
