"Say No to Plastic Awareness Drive" under Sustainable Goal Development by the Students of TJIS, Kanpur on 15th February, 2025
On 15th February 2025, students of Classes VI to VIII from TJIS, Kanpur, visited the vegetable market near Jageshwar Temple as part of the "Say No to Plastic" initiative, promoting sustainable development. The objective of the visit was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives. Students engaged with vendors and customers, educating them on the environmental impact of plastic waste and urging them to adopt cloth and jute bags instead. To reinforce their message, they distributed reusable bags and emphasized the importance of reducing plastic consumption in daily life. The visit provided students with a practical learning experience, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility and active participation in sustainability efforts. The initiative was well-received by the local community, making it a successful step towards a greener future.
