TJIS, Kanpur celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with immense patriotic fervour and zeal . A plethora of activities were organized to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood and patriotism among the students.
The event comes across as especially historic since the country is celebrating its ‘Amrut Mahotsav’ this year, marking 75 years of Independence from British colonial rule. At the same time, the Prime Minister kick started Republic Day celebrations in a mark of respect for the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect turned the nation into a newly-formed Republic. This is the first time that India is beginning Republic Day celebrations from January 23rd from the Birth Anniversary of Freedom Fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
To mark this special day TJIS, Kanpur started celebrating the event from 23rd January, the Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose which was followed by Art & Craft activities, Quiz, Fancy Dress, etc.
The elite day dawned with the introduction showcasing the history and significance of Republic Day followed by a motivational talk highlighting the duties & rights of citizens was by Sameeksha Patel. This was followed by the unfurling of our Tricolour by the Officiating Principal, Mrs. Deepa Singh and Head Mistress Mrs. Rekha Singh with ceremonial serenity and all sang the National Anthem in unison. TJIS Head Girl Illima Fatima and Head Boy Tarang Gautam administered the Country Pledge to the entire school.
To commence the celebrations, Arav Raj Mishra shared his views on the celebration of this spectacular day which fills us with the feeling of patriotism and dedication. On the other hand, Anmol Shukla, Captain, Little Champs highlighed on the History of Kanpur. Harsh Srivastava presented a soulful Patriotic followed by a Dance presented by Kavya Rajput, Pratika Singh, Saumya Singh, Rashmeet Bhatiya, Kratika Singh and Kritika Verma. Our Little Champs astounded the audience with their Fancy dress Show. They were attired as the natives of different states and great Freedom Fighters of India viz. Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, Dr. B.R Ambedkar, Shaheed Bhagat Kasturba Gandhi, Netaji Shubhas Chandra Bose, Lal Bahadur Shastri , Soldier etc. The recital of a poem by Mrs. Jyoti Johri, on this special occasion was awe-inspiring for the audience.
Mrs. Deepa Singh, in her speech, talked about how to create a great nation through collective efforts from all individuals.
The event concluded with the rendition of the National Song by Akanksha Panda in her sweet and melodious voice. The entire TJIS was resplendent in the shades of tricolor.
Last but not the least, the Student Cultural Incharge, Mansi Manwani delivered the Vote of Thanks.
The teachers and students observed this day with great zeal and enthusiasm.
