“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think”

Counsellinggoes on for life, or at least until we reach retirement. The goal and main objective for this counselling session was to provide students with skills and knowledge they need to make important decisions throughout their lives.

This career counselling session was organized by City University of Hong Kong hosted by Achint Singh Bhatia, Ex-Student of our school. The session was virtually held on Zoom platform to facilitate our senior students with career exploration, career introduction and motivational counselling. In today’s environment of multiple options, knowing about the choices available helps children in their decision making process.

The session commenced with the introduction session by school’s English faculty Mr. Hari Om Singh (PGT-English) and Mr. Kashif Khan (PGT-English). The resource person for this session was Mr. Achint Singh Bhatia from the University of Hong Kong. He made our students understand the importance of knowing one’s potential and subject of interest before making a decision. He also laid stress on the right combination of subjects as per their aptitude which should be reflected in their academic performances.

Achint also shared information regarding leading job opportunities and various courses available in his university and admission criteria as well. He urged the students not to make decisions based on family expectations and peer pressure. He guided the students to identify their interest and what they are good at.

Overall the session will prove to be quite informative for the students.
