Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2019,

Swachhta hi Seva 2019 is a massive nationwide awareness and mobilization campaign on Cleanliness launched by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi,with the theme ‘Plastic Waste Awareness and Management’.

The Jain International School undertook the cleanliness drive with a spate of activities. On 1^st October, 2019, a special Cleanliness Drive was carried out to Parmat Shiv Temple to reverberate the aim of the campaign. A Team of 25 Students from classes V to XII, accompanied by teachers left on their mission with their tools of cleaning for the premises of Ganges Ghat at Parmat, Kanpur.

There the students were involved in picking up the litter and cleaning the area. Later, the solid waste was treated by dumping it in the pits. The students also distributed handmade paper bags to the vendors of the locality and told them about the perilous affects of plastic bags and other plastic waste on human beings, animals and the environment at large. The message of cleanliness and ban of plastic was very clearly displayed by the students through the placards and slogans.

The whole drive was very inspiring and motivating for the staff and students. They also understood the dignity of labour for Cleanliness. The students took a pledge to clean their school, homes, public places and surroundings.
