Inter House Hindi Debate Competition

AT TJIS, Kanpur

 “Mother tongue is the language of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow...”

In its endeavour to promote the skill of debating and develop love and taste for Hindi Language, The Jain International School, Kanpur, in its premises, conducted an Inter House Hindi Debate Competition on 07 Aug, 2019, for the students from Grades VI to XII under Groups B & C for all the four houses.

The topics for the debate were-

• Group B (Classes VI- VIII)- “Sarkar Ko Sabse Zyada Kis Kshetra Mein Paisa Kharch Karna Chahiye -  Swasthya Ya Suraksha”
• Group C (Classes IX- XII)-“ Loktantra  Pranali - Achchi Ya Buri”

Two students participated from each house, speaking ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion. It was a very interesting competition where all the contestants were well prepared and were very convincing in putting forth their ideas with correct expressions, body movements and gestures. It was a great platform for the students as it gave them creative room to express themselves.

It was an enriching and learning experience for the young orators and for the audience to listen to the arguments put forth by all the participants. The debates were engrossing and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the event.

The proficient team of the Blue House took care of the venue setup and stage decoration. The time keepers Utkarsh Mishra and Shaurya Sharad Shukla deftly managed the time.

The event was compered by Utkarsh Ujjwal and Prakarsh Jaiswal of class XII.

The competition was adjudged by the Hindi Language Experts from all the four houses - Mrs. Archana Singh (Blue Panthers), Mrs. Seema Gaur (Green Leopards), Mrs. Maninder Kaur (Red Jaguars) and Mrs. Sunita Jain (Yellow Tigers) and also presided over by the Principal Mr. M.K. Panda.

The criteria of judgement was Content, Voice Modulation, Pronunciation, Retention, Time Keeping and Confidence.

The event concluded with the words of motivation and result announcement by Principal Sir.

Senior Headmistress Mrs. Deepa Singh and Junior Headmistress Mrs. Rekha Singh were also present on the occasion to elicit the confidence of the participants.
