Let’s rejoice in happiness and indulge in celebration,

Saluting the ones who made it possible,

Singing in their admiration,

Who made India stand High and Mighty,

Let’s make them our Inspiration.

Independence Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the date and moment when the India became free from the clutches of British Rule. The heart of every Indian blooms with pride and patriotism on this day. The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at The Jain International School. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of freedom.

The glorious morning commenced with unfurling of the tri-colour flag by Respected  Principal Mr. M.K. Panda and Headmistress Mrs Shoumee Sarkar followed by the National Anthem. This infused the spirit of nationalism and patriotism at TJIS campus. Thereafter Principal Sir administered the oath to the entire school wherein all pledged to take India to the zenith of development and success by fighting against poverty, corruption, terrorism, communalism and casteism. Next the students and staff participated in the formation of human chain and Prabhat Pheri. The school resounded with patriotic slogans ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Jai Hind’, ‘I Love My India’,‘Jai Ho’, ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’, etc. as all marched proudly depicting intense love for their motherland.

Children presented a cultural programme centred on the theme of patriotism. The participants spell bound the audience with their performances and also energized them with nationalism by awakening their feelings towards their Mother Land. The school campus reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

Principal Sir, in his speech invoked the students to strive to make India a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

Head Boy Ritesh Kumar Vimal and Head Girl Saloni Shukla,through their speeches conveyed how the students of today hold the future of their country in their hands. It is important for the welfare of the country that its present generation should realize that the prospect of the country is in its hands.

Headmistress Ma’am spoke about the diverse cultures of India. She took the students to the days when India was struggling for freedom and also spoke about how today India is a progressing country excelling in all fields.

On this auspicious day the entire school pledged to endeavor for the growth and success of their school and abide by its rules and regulations strictly.

Finally the whole school sang the National Song ‘Vande Mataram …’ in unison depicting immense pride accompanied by a deep sense of patriotism that manifested itself during the Independence Day Celebrations. Students not only enjoyed the day but went home as proud and happy Indians.

To Conclude:

‘Let’s not take our Independence for granted

Let’s do our bit to make India a better place

Legacy to live for and Legacy to die for…….
