AT THE JAIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

26th Jan. 2014

The Preamble to the Indian Constitution begins with, ‘WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA…’ and with these words we declare with pride and confidence that this is the voice of an independent, democratic nation.

Republic Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the date and moment when the constitution of India came into effect. The heart of every Indian blooms with pride and patriotism on this day. The 65th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at The Jain International School. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity.

The eventful morning commenced with unfurling of the tri-colour flag by our Principal Mrs Ira Bhat followed by the National Anthem. This infused the spirit of nationalism and patriotism at TJIS campus. Principal Ma’am spoke about the diverse cultures of India. She took the students to the days when India was struggling for freedom and also spoke about how today India is a progressing country excelling in all fields.

A cultural programme centred on the theme of patriotism was conducted to instil the spirit of national pride and love for the country. The school campus reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm Ojas Gupta of Class 4 and Shreya of Class 11, through their speeches, conveyed how the students of today hold the future of their country in their hands. It is important for the welfare of the country that its present generation should realize that the future is in its hands.

On One hand when Disha Dixit of Class 10 spoke about the facts of our Country, its Constitution and Rupee, Sanchit Agarwal highlighted the difference between National Anthem and National Song. A Quiz was also organised to create awareness amongst the students about various facets of the country like the National Pledge, Preamble, National Flag and so on.
